Position Responsibilities

  • Provides input for regional Supply Chain strategy, adapts and implements it according to regional requirements  
  • Implements and maintains global transportation standards and processes based on the LEAN principles and internal/external benchmarks; develops if necessary regional transportation processes and standards 
  • Optimizes regional transport networks, transport costs, transport routes and transit lead times 
  • Supports plants and customer lines to handle urgent transportation requests  
  • Prepares transportation data and quotation documents for negotiations with service providers; collects and tracks contract conditions (e.g. duration)  
  • Conducts transport service provider audits advises on improvement opportunities 
  • Handles insurance claims 
  • Tracks and updates transport and rate developments (e.g. fuel surcharge, tolls, changes in laws and restrictions) 
  • Participate in the forwarders and transport service providers selection in cooperation with the Purchasing department  
  • Service providers performance development
  • Organize emergency freights based on demand from the plants
  • Monitor and manage US plants operation, import/export procedures, regulations, tariff numbers, brokerage invoice approval.
  • Lead and execute action plans to improve, mitigate, contain or eliminate any existing customs risks or contingencies.
  • Work with customs brokers to ensure the compliance of the operation (import and export documents: SED, entry summaries, valuation, classification, etc) and after it: recordkeeping.
  • Respond to inquiries from Customs Brokers and freight forwarders regarding SLI, HTS, Schedule B and ECCN. Also, CF28 and CF29.
  • Work closely and maintain an effective communication with the FTA responsible to ensure the appliance of the Certificate of Origin in the operation and avoid duties.
  • Maintains thorough and current knowledge of international trade laws and regulations applicable to the US plants operation.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing: work instructions, processes, procedures and policies needed to enhance the customs operation
  • Effectively communicate any risk / change in Customs Legislation
  • Identify areas for improvement and cost analysis of improvement. Duty analysis.
  • Responsible for Bond renewal, bond process in general.
  • FTZ
    • Responsible for reconciliation process
    • Responsible for the FTZ operation compliance. Annual reports, quartly HMF.
  • Security program
    • Responsible of the maintenance and fulfilment of the C-TPAT program for Spartanburg plant.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Economics or Engineering
  • Basic overview of supply chain, customs and trade processes, regional / local Law and Norms and global standards, guidelines for Supply Chains and Transport KPIs, detailed overview of transportation processes, including ocean and land transportation
  • 2 - 3 years of industry experience
