 The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring coordination and release of components required to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Also responsible for developing procedures and supporting systems to optimize inventory levels, tracking containers, meeting all packaging needs and optimizing freight.
• Material planning activities required to support production demand and satisfy customer requirements.  This includes decision making/managing material based from primarily international suppliers that is valued at approximately 25% of sales volume.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and integrity in accordance with department goals and objectives. Understanding/maintaining levels are critical as too much inventory affects floor space and working capital while shortages can cause transport expedite dollars up to production outages.
• Responsible for ensuring designated storage location using FIFO principles for all material.
• Provide customer support both internally and externally when dealing with a majority of customers based overseas.
• Perform to all quality systems standards.
• Support and drive continuous improvement activities to positively affect the profitability of the Company.
• Adhere to safety and housekeeping principles.
 

* High school diploma required and some college preferred (Two years formal education or related experience)

• Minimum of three years Materials/Logistics experience
• Knowledge of SAP, MRP and Lean Manufacturing required
• International material planning experience preferred
