We are seeking an experienced controls technician with 2-5 years of experience. This person must possess the ability to troubleshoot using the PLC as well as possess the ability to read and understand a voltmeter and other testing devices.
2-5 Years of PLC and 5 + years electrical experience preferred.
Primary Accountabilities
- Respond to production downtime events that require PLC/ Electrical support.
- Communicate with team members and leadership in a precise, professional, and respectful way.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/ electronic and pneumatics at a high level of expertise.
- Understand, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits from 5V to 480V.
- Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints.
- Troubleshoot and assist in the repair ABB robots not limited to replacement of axis and other various components.
- Integration and setting up of VFD’s as needed.
- Monitor and adjust equipment parameters to stabilize processes and maintain customer quality.
- Investigate and assist other departments with process and quality issues.
- Research, test, and purchase parts and new equipment along with monitoring existing stock.
- Utilize MMS to generate work orders and log performance.
Decision Making Authority
- Recommend and implement improvements to the manufacturing process to either improve component quality or reduce cycle time.
- Make decisions on equipment, programs, and fixture adjustments as needed, but always with safety and customer quality in mind.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Associate’s degree in Mechatronics or similar field
- Previous engineering experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Siemens PLC Programming TIA Portal knowledge
- ABB Robot programming knowledge
- Bosch/ Atlas Copco Tightening System Programming
- Vision system set up and integration is a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate the use of DMM.
- Encoder knowledge
- Ladder logic
- HMI Proficiency
- AC/DC Power experience
