The Team Leader Tool Management is in charge of the roll shop process by supervising staff; He or she is responsible for the compliance with safety rules and organizes and monitors the workflow and the outcome with regards to quality and performance. He or she needs to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of tooling refurbishment and roll shop operation.


Key Responsibilities

  • As part of the job duties, the Team Leader Tool Management will:
  • Supervise the roll shop day and shift- team;
  • Support and execute programs and procedures to ensure compliance to all safety rules and regulations;
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure high quality of work;
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the tooling refurbishment process and develop countermeasures to minimize unplanned downtime and maintain a high product quality level;
  • Setup and ensure the execution of programs required to ensure roll shop cleanliness;
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures;
  • Maintain proper and updated training material end ensure continuous training of the assigned employees to support highest performance requirements;
  • Ensure that team's goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company's directive.
  • Act as liaison between the assigned team members and the management
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Conduct employee performance review to determine competency, knowledge and contribution;
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and providing trouble shooting support tothe maintenance teams;
  • Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing roll shop and tooling performance records and data;
  • Be responsible for planning, directing or coordinating work activities and obtain resources necessary for operational success.
  • Will be reviewing schedules and tasks and make decisions regarding resources needed to meet those schedules or deadlines.
  • Work closely and as a team with the employees assigned to them.
  • Be responsible for staffing the respective roll shop areas and keep the employees in those areas working efficiently.
  • Support trouble shooting activities and investigate root causes for failures of rolls, bearings and all other relevant tooling.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Materials and or Industrial or equivalent experience.
  • General roll shop experience is mandatory, seamless experience is preferred;
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance strategies
  • Comprehensive understanding of bearing technology
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to organize and explain complex data in a clear manner;
  • Detail oriented with proven analytical, problem identification and resolution skills;
  • Ability to work in a Team orientated atmosphere;
  • Strong safety awareness and experience;
  • Demonstrated capability of results through people, technology and process;
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, coworkers and management;
  • Basic SAP, CNC andgeneral computer knowledge is required;
  • At least 5 years in a shift supervisor role in a roll shop of a hot rolling facility (seamless preferred)
