The Process Engineer is responsible for the set up and performance of the mill. There is a tremendous amount of detail required for this technical position, the Process Engineer has complete technical responsibility to their assigned area in all disciplines.  The Process Engineer will have responsibilities for our products, the current products catalog, and future products. The Process Engineer will work closely with our Production and Maintenance Teams to investigate and eliminate any and all quality, reliability, and process concerns.  The Process Engineer will be required to analyze data from rolling lots and develop standards for the production of these products. The Process Engineer will be responsible for making changes in the rolling design to pass and profile changes. The Process Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation of new products with research of current tooling and they will be responsible for identifying new tooling when needed. This position may require travel to other countries, universities and technical seminars.  He or she should possess a great deal of troubleshooting skills and be able to explain any and all issues regarding the process in great detail.  He or she will be required to report any and all issues or modifications to the Production and Maintenance Manager.  


Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for optimizing equipment and investigating and implementing new engineered improvements;
  • Be responsible for troubleshooting, advising and eliminating any and all design, process and production quality issues;
  • Assist in the training of production and maintenance employees concerning the rolling mills, Extractor, IMS Gauges and related equipment;
  • Assist in the procedure development with production employees concerning the Hot Rolling Mill controls, HMI’s and proper tooling "Roll Changes" and set up instructions;
  • Assist other Process Engineers as required on special projects;
  • Assist in commissioning activities both in the mill and in our tooling facilities;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of work procedures, PM’s and LOTO;
  • Participate in down days, outages and special projects;
  • Participate in plant 5S and Lean manufacturing programs as well as any and all continuous improvement activities;
  • Participate in "Root Cause Analysis" meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues in the process;
  • Participate in safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals and expectations;
  • Be an active participant in developing and maintaining a culture of professionalism;
  • Responsible for following the rules, policies or expectations;
  • Lead or assist in root cause analysis on issues related to quality and productivity;
  • Perform statistical process and product data analysis in order to identify process inconsistencies and develop countermeasures;
  • Provide input for improvement of the Technological Product Calculation;
  • Respond to inquiries from the sales department in terms of producibility of a certain product properties


Qualifications and Experience

  • BS in Engineering or BS degree with minimum 4 years’ experience in OCTG downhole equipment tubular equipment application.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and develop technical specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of API / ASTM/ TS/ ISO standards and specifications.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize, present and explain complex data in a clear manner.
  • Detail oriented with proven analytical, problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Experience in identifying and analyzing problems/ issues.
  • Knowledge of Safety requirements.
  • Member of World Class Production & Maintenance Team in Shreveport, Louisiana.;
  • Potential training in Germany as well as other countries or locations;
  • Support of the plant installation and commissioning teams if required
