Job Responsibilities

  • Detailed job planning.
  • Preventative Maintenance and standard/weekly job planning and development.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling for shutdowns (major and minor).
  • Maintain CMMS including a file of planned job packages for recurring jobs (Task List), plus labor and material libraries for each piece of equipment.
  • Ensure effective communication of maintenance activities across and between shifts, in conjunction with the operations production plan.
  • Participate in priority and planning meetings, outage coordination meetings, and schedule review meetings.
  • Coordinate contracted maintenance services.
  • Assist in visual inspections to machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure the appropriate usage of parts, identifying improvement opportunities that will lead to higher equipment reliability, improved repair procedures or reduced cost.
  • Inform Maintenance manager of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice on matters outside the planner's knowledge or authority.
  • Enter purchase requisitions for all planned services and maintenance related functions including but not limited to spare parts, internal and external assembly refurbishments etc.
  • Enter system reservations for all planned material requirements and unplanned material requirements when applicable.
  • Assist in accuracy of maintaining of the Bills of Material (Parts lists) for assets.
  • Review all work order feedback and update Preventative Maintenance tasks and standard work orders accordingly.
  • Involvement in (M9 Notification) emergency and urgent work requests. There is no opportunity to plan such work. If any planning is to be accomplished, the planner must focus on down days, along with next week and beyond.

 

Job Requirements

  • Two years technical school or equivalent practical training in primary technical field relating to area being served. (e.g., mechanical - Area Maintenance departments, electrical - Electrical Department, machining - Tool Departments, etc.)
  • Mechanical/electrical background.
  • Have adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, and machine/process drawings.
  • Ability to sketch or redline existing drawings.
  • Knowledge of and understands the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes. Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
  • SAP PM module.
  • Experience in plant operations and maintenance preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Good knowledge of plant equipment and repairs techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Effective computer skills including Microsoft Office.
