Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safety-first culture and support Benteler Steel Tube safety standards in accordance with BST EHS department(s).
- Conduct MOC (Management of Change) reviews on all new equipment and improvements of existing equipment.
- Methodic determination and elimination of repetitive machine/equipment failures.
- Schedule and maintain PM (preventative maintenance) program utilizing the supplied SAP software.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems for BST Finishing department.
- Effectively plan and execute shutdown/outage maintenance activities including major repairs/machine replacements that are not shutdown/outage related.
- Effectively plan and execute scheduled/regular maintenance day activities in coordination with BST Finishing Operations, Electrical Maintenance, and Utility staff(s).
- Coordinates with BST warehouse personnel regarding critical spare parts inventory and periodically reviews common spare part consumption.
- Coordinates personnel in cooperation with BST maintenance repair shop regarding refurbishment of spare equipment assemblies.
- Performs annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Manages the maintenance personnel by setting goals and priorities.
- Provides training and development for all maintenance personnel.
- Participate in the development of future production capabilities by attending design meetings, in cooperation with plant engineering and finishing operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities that involve outside contractor support and ensure those activities are performed to BST safety and BST best practice standards.
- Coordinates the trainings and reports to staff on planning new projects or changes in plant.
- Development of maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
- Creation of daily, weekly and/or monthly reports (evaluations) regarding maintenance activities.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- BS degree in engineering or technical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in process optimization in heavy manufacturing is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of process optimization standards and best practices.
- Construction and/or start-up experience preferred.
