Then the role of Sr Buyer Production Equipment & Services might be the perfect next step in your personal development journey! We are looking for an experienced purchasing professional who enjoys working in an agile product and operations development cycle. Moreover, we are searching for curious minds who have the strategic ambition to select and integrate the best partners in the fields of production planning, vehicle production solutions as well as maintenance, repair and operations services into our business model. In this course you will contribute significantly to the HOLON Purchasing Team’s mission to establish a reliable and resilient partnership ecosystem together with our manufacturing engineering team, focusing the built, ramp-up and operations of our newly founded shuttle production site in Jacksonville, Florida (USA).

 

The respective scope of responsibility is as follows:

 

  • Creating and owning the supply portfolio strategy in in the field of vehicle production planning services, production machinery & infrastructure as well as maintenance, repair and operations services
  • Scouting, selection and implementation of suitable supplier partners based on market analyses and competition benchmarks
  • Establishing sustainable and performant supplier relationships, fostering reliability and innovation of our vehicle production infrastructure and the corresponding operations
  • Managing all procurement related activities during the factory build phase, the production ramp-up and during the series operations with focus of supplier's contribution to relevant project milestones 
  • Assessing (commercial, technical & quality) new supplier partners in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams
  • Conducting supplier visits and audits to ensure continuous performance by our partners
  • Evaluating supplier offers regarding price, quality, delivery time and risk
  • Ensuring timely service performance and supplier deliverables throughout all project phases
  • Communication of market trends and purchasing strategies towards various internal stakeholders
  • Identifying and implementing cost optimization potentials by implementing suitable partnership steering models
  • Coordinating supplier specific escalations with affected internal stakeholders

 

We are looking for the following profile:

 

  • Completed studies in one of the fields of Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable, Masters preferred 
  • Several years of professional experience in manufacturing CAPEX and services purchasing, preferably in the automotive OEM or Tier-1 industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex automotive production planning and operations processes and of strategic requirements towards respective external partners
  • Significant negotiation experience in complex and milestone-driven procurement settings in international contexts
  • Strong intercultural skills and availability for international and national business trips (~10% travel necessary). During the initial onboarding, travel requirements will be increased to ensure appropriate introductions to our German HQ and BENTELER colleagues in Michigan
