General Purpose of Position

  • This role will support a wide range of sales operations activities and represents the interface between sales, operations, our customers and logistics providers.  Activities including order management, trade matters, logistics, and transportation claim management. The ideal candidate is required to be a versatile team player and have the ability to work cross-functionally.  A critical thinker and self starter. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret customer RFQs and purchase orders to ensure conformity with Benteler quotations and standards.  
  • Accurately enter customer orders into the SAP and generate related purchase orders and order confirmations. 
  • Review weekly shipping reports and filter for distribution to assigned customers.
  • Identify problem orders that require special attention, expedite internally, and communicate to the customer reducing potential adverse impacts.
  • Process deliveries, goods receipt, and customer invoice in SAP timely and within customer and internal expectations.
  • Actively contribute to inventory control and management.
  • Monitor and report on trade related matters, such as Section 232, import statistics, trade cases.
  • Responsible for vendor development and relations, within assigned business segments.
  • Manage freight and other logistic provider rates, contracts, and budgets within internal guidelines.
  • Issue purchase orders and assign orders to vendors as defined by management
  • Manage transportation claims through diligent communication with, but not limited to, customers, insurance, and surveyors
  • Develop and contribute to companywide process improvement initiatives

 

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Good knowledge of steel tubulars; preferably seamless.
  • Proven understanding of the different business segments and contexts in the supply chain.
  • Inter-cultural and diversity understanding.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, at a minimum).
  • Experience with SAP or strong IT/ ERP system knowhow required.
  • A proven strategic mind-set with the ability to develop from defined goals
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interface with personnel on all levels
  • Positive attitude, energetic, personable and a reliable team player
  • Skilled in accuracy, detail oriented, and organizational abilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Confident telephone communication abilities
  • Person should be fluent in English, knowledge of the German and Spanish language is a plus
  • Within boundaries defined by manager, the position may make decisions related to vendor assignments.
