Purpose of the Job

Provide direct support to the Product Manager Line Pipe in the ongoing development of existing and prospective customers

Processing of customer inquiries, preparation of quotations, order entries and delivery status

To serve as the liaison in necessary communication between customers, Product Manager, Sales Operations Manager, and Mills to achieve aforementioned tasks

To support the realization of the BENTELER Steel & Tube sales strategy and expansion.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Obtain and clarify all necessary information about customer’s requirements
  • Communicate and clarify requirements (such as technical requirements, pricing, logistics and delivery dates) with suppliers (mainly internal but on exceptional basis also external)
  • Prepare quotations within the guidelines or price lists provided by management and follow-up
  • Review orders clarify with customers as needed and enter order details into the SAP system and generate related purchase orders and order confirmations
  • Obtain regular status reports from suppliers / the mill, including external processors, track production status and discuss discrepancies with agreed delivery dates with the mill, Product Manager and Sales Operations Manager (as needed)
  • Provide customers with regular status reports
  • Coordinate delivery to customers, vendors, and 3rd party locations.
  • May participate in pricing/strategic discussions and in the preparation of the annual sales budget discussions and quarterly forecasting.
  • Participate in cost savings and other projects
  • Optimize processes and structures in his/her area of responsibility
  • Sub-contract certain services that are required to fulfil the commitment to the customer (on exceptional basis)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BS/BA in Business Administration or related field preferred Knowledge of contract laws and standard operating procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Line Pipe products is a preference criteria
  • Experience in Oil&Gas Tubular Goods would be a benefit
  • Previous experience in similar role in the steel tube industry is a preference criteria
  • One year of Sales experience or some level of customer service experience
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Proficiency in Word, Excel & Power Point
  • Proficiency with SAP, Excel and databases is a must
  • Ability to interface with personnel
  • Inter-cultural and Diversity understanding
  • Positive attitude, energetic, personable and a reliable Team player
  • Skilled in accuracy, detail oriented and organizational abilities
  • Excellent verbal (on telephone and in face to face meetings) and written skills
  • Confident telephone communication abilities
