Process Engineer - Aluminum Extrusion Production Unit

Are you an innovative and driven Process Engineer passionate about optimizing aluminum extrusion processes? Join our dynamic team to play a pivotal role in developing, enhancing, and troubleshooting processes in our Aluminum Extrusion Production Unit.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Expert Guidance: Provide expertise in alloy selection, processing rates, and feasibility for new business, contributing valuable insights for quoting new projects.

  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional continuous improvement (CIP) teams to elevate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including OEE, FFTQ, scrap reduction, schedule completion, and on-time deliveries.

  • Quality Enhancement: Work closely with the quality engineer in root cause analysis to swiftly resolve quality issues while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Enhanced Productivity: Partner with Die shop technicians to elevate the quality and productivity of aluminum extrusions.

  • Documentation and Standards: Develop, revise, and document essential standards including Standard Work Instructions (SWI), Extrusion Process Standards (EPS), and Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to optimize operations.

  • Equipment Planning and Optimization: Participate in new equipment planning (capex), defining Statements of Requirements (SOR) for suppliers, and identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.

  • Project Implementation: Support successful implementation of new projects, engineering and process changes to enhance product quality and delivery while minimizing costs.

  • Data Analysis and Troubleshooting: Collect and analyze process data, troubleshoot process issues, and drive optimization efforts using continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety procedures, proactively identify unsafe behaviors or conditions, and take corrective actions as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Metallurgical Science from an accredited institution.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Forming – Aluminum Extrusion, and at least 1 year of experience in Measurement – GD&T.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform light work, occasional walking and standing, with limited carrying, lifting, and climbing.
