The Plant Human Resources Manager will coordinate and direct the strategic support and administrative functions of a manufacturing location. Managing the local HR team, they will coordinate strategic planning with executive management, oversee full-cycle recruiting, and serve as a link between the organization's management and its employees
Position Responsibility
- Implement both the global and regional HR strategy, adapting as necessary according to local needs.
- Implements both the global and regional programs and policies, adapting as necessary according to local needs and challenges
- Anticipates recruitment needs in advance in order to ensure adequate staffing in terms of quantity and quality; manages local staffing needs (permanent and temporary)
- Ensures fair and competitive compensation according to internal policies and regulations as well as labor law and council/union agreements; optimizes personnel costs considering aspects such as productivity, profitability and job satisfaction
- Ensures the continuous development of employees by identifying needs and developing concepts and organizing respective trainings
- Advises on organizational structures and changes and supports reorganizations
- Ensures accurate and timely KPI reporting. Derives and initiates permanent corrections in case of deviations and monitors the implementation and effectiveness
- Acts as first contact and negotiation partner for the local union, if applicable
- Ensures professional support of supervisors and employees concerning employee/employer relations issues
- Advises Management Team concerning employment law and human resource topics
- Participates and/or leads global/regional projects/ initiatives
- Establishes and maintains an effective, efficient and motivated HR workforce, organization and processes
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources
- 3+ years of experience in a union environment
- Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Working knowledge of US labor laws and employment laws (ADA, FLSA, FMLA)
- Experience with HRIS software (ADP, SAP)
