Key Responsibilities

  • Program and deploy PLC, HMI and MES improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train and develop maintenance machine repair technicians and electricians
  • Support plant initiatives to drive safety, quality and delivery
  • Initiate and implement repairs and improvements processes and equipment
  • Investigate production and quality issues using problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
  • Research, test, purchase and integrate parts and new equipment
  • Plan and design new projects regarding both in internal projects and new launches
  • Enforce and follow safety procedures, being attentive to unsafe behaviors or conditions and taking necessary corrective actions
  • Automation expert in the plant
  • PLC and electrical troubleshooting support
  • Participate in regional expert circles and standardization
  • Supporting and testing new equipment standards before implementation
  • Support and train in launch and production equipment
  • Involvement in equipment design review and sign off

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • 2 – 3 years of engineering experience
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, drives, cameras, servos, ignition, and robot programming a plus
  • Experience drawing and updating electrical schematics
  • Experience in Siemens TIA Portal preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Up to 10 lbs. of force
  • Limited walking and occasional prolonged standing when on the plant floor
  • Limited carrying, lifting/exerting force up to 20 lbs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The position is for Controls Engineer supporting operations.  Specific focus on maintenance interventions and support
  • Run continuous improvement initiatives
  • Counter actions to quality and safety 8D
  • Train and develop Maintenance Machine Repair and Electricians
  • Support Production Unit Leader's to drive safety, quality and delivery
  • Analyize and review maintenance downtime and coordinate PM activity to mitigate
  • Respond to stabilize production based on variable SPC data
  • Build PM plans with maintenance department and support maintenace.
  • Help drive weekly pit stops.  Cooridinate parts, projects and internal/external resources to repair
  • Manage quarterly interventions on rebuild.  Organize parts and resources to mangage rebuilds and inspections.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years Controls engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in Engineering or the equivalent experience.
  • Metal/Aluminum experience preferred
  • Either experience with CNC required
  • Knowledge of process analysis including pareto, 5why/8d, lean manufacturing, GD&T preferred
  • Ability to train and communicate all levels of the organization
  • Systematic approach to problem solving, strong communication to pier level and shift to shift
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • Team engagement and accountability
