We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with 1 to 2 years of experience who is looking to expand their knowledge across a wide range of HR disciplines while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resources operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and reporting. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leaders, helping to create a positive employee experience while ensuring HR practices support business objectives.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, customer-service oriented, and eager to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities for hourly positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to post positions, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions.
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Assist with maintaining recruitment metrics and tracking hiring effectiveness.
Employee Support & Employee Relations
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and company programs.
- Help resolve employee concerns while escalating more complex matters as appropriate.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and HR communication efforts.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS system (SAP).
- Support HR compliance initiatives and assist with audits, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Assist in the administration and interpretation of company policies and procedures.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Payroll & Reporting Support
- Assist with payroll processing activities and help resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of HR reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Track and analyze key HR performance indicators, including turnover, attendance, recruiting metrics, and other workforce trends.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with training, engagement, and talent development programs.
- Support special assignments and other HR-related initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of Human Resources experience required.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, automotive, distribution, or other fast-paced operational environment is preferred.
- Internship or co-op experience in Human Resources may be considered in combination with professional experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience working with an HRIS system preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
