OT Security stands for Operational Technology Security. It refers to the protection of systems and assets used to monitor and control physical processes in industries such as manufacturing, energy, transportation, and utilities.

Overview Tasks – OT Security Specialist
General: the OT Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing operational technology systems used in industrial environments (e.g., manufacturing, energy, or utilities). This role bridges the gap between IT and plant operations.
The main responsibility is to manage the existing experts within the production environment, as well as to ensure communication between plant functions (Maintenance & IT) and Cyber Security Governance.
Key Tasks
- Interface between the cyber security organization (IT) and production areas at all levels (global, market, plant)
- Further development of the OT security framework, including policies and derived requirements for production, in collaboration with Cyber Security Governance
- Collection and consolidation of requirements and boundary conditions from production areas
- Piloting and implementation of policies and solutions within projects based on TISAX VDA-ISA / IEC 62443 requirements, in collaboration with production areas
- Independent monitoring of testing and implementation activities regarding time, cost, and quality/effectiveness (TCQ), and initiation of appropriate corrective actions in case of deviations
- Communication, implementation & steering (e.g. tools, policies) in collaboration with cyber security governance
- Coordination of all involved stakeholders and external service providers
- Preparation and facilitation of regular meetings (e.g. know-how exchange) with production areas and the cyber security organization
Skills
- University degree: e.g. industrial engineering
- Project Management & abilities to identify requirements
- IT/ OT background (I 4.0/ digital technologies)
- Proactive approach, strong communication skills, and excellent teamwork abilities
- Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Communication, presentation & training
- Languages: local language, fluent English
