Your opportunity:
- Support Lean initiatives: Support and coordinate the implementation of Lean methodologies, tools, and practices within the logistics operations of various plants in the region.
- Identify improvement opportunities: Collaborate with logistics managers and teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste in logistics processes such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, internal material flow and order fulfillment.
- Develop Lean strategies: Work closely with senior management and logistics stakeholders to apply and/or develop Lean strategies and deployment plans tailored to the logistics operations of each site within the region. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance and training: Educate and train logistics personnel at all levels on Lean principles, tools, and techniques specific to logistics operations. This includes areas such as value stream mapping, 5S, standardized work, visual management, internal material flow and problem-solving.
- Implement process improvements: Facilitate problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement projects to develop and implement solutions that optimize logistics processes, reduce costs, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor performance: Establish logistics performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the impact of Lean initiatives. Regularly review and analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the logistics teams by encouraging employee engagement and participation in Lean activities.
- Share best practices: Facilitate the sharing of best practices, success stories, and lessons learned among logistics teams within the region. Foster collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
- Support Lean projects: Provide support and guidance to Lean project teams in the logistics domain. Help prioritize projects and support to ensure timely completion of objectives.
- Conduct audits and assessments: Conduct periodic audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of Lean implementations in logistics operations and compliance with established standards. Identify areas of improvement and ensure the development and follow up of action plans.
- Stay updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, new Lean methodologies, and emerging practices specific to logistics and supply chain management. Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Your Personality:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives within logistics or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools and techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and problem-solving methodologies applied to logistics processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing logistics operations.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, particularly within logistics and supply chain functions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience in logistics improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma certification, particularly in the context of logistics, is highly desirable.
- Language Skills: Fluent English (Mandatory), German (is a plus) and Spanish
