Key Responsibilities

  • Provides input for regional SC strategy, adapts and implements it according to regional requirements  
  • Implements and maintains global transportation standards and processes based on the Lean principles and internal/external benchmarks; develops if necessary regional transportation processes and standards 
  • Optimizes regional transport networks, transport costs, transport routes and transit lead times 
  • Ensures proper securing of loads and compliance with environmental standards 
  • Supports plants and customer lines to handle urgent transportation requests  
  • Prepares transportation data and quotation documents for negotiations with service providers; collects and tracks contract conditions (e.g. duration)  
  • Conducts transport service provider audits advises on improvement opportunities 
  • Handles insurance claims 
  • Tracks and updates transport and rate developments (e.g. fuel surcharge, tolls, changes in laws and restrictions) 
  • Selects forwarder and transport service providers in cooperation with the Purchasing department  
  • Service providers performance development

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Economics or Engineering
  • 5 years of working experience, basic overview of SCM, customs and trade processes, stock management, regional / local Law and Norms and global standards, guidelines for Supply Chains and Transport KPIs, detailed overview of transportation processes including design and implementation in SAP as well as forwarder portals, strategic as well as operative / shopfloor orientation, Supply Chain Lean Tool Skills (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, Problem Circle), previours leadership / managerial experience
  • 2 - 3 years of industry experience
