Responsibilities:

  • Assess and Qualify new suppliers
  • Work with Purchasing to manage Commodity Strategies and Supplier Selection
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the supplier agreement are closed prior to the award of new business
  • Ensure the supplier follows the K2 supplier development and advanced quality planning process through periodic detailed reviews with supplier program and plant management.
  • Solve process and design problems with suppliers during development / pre-launch using effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Report supplier program / APQP status.
  • Manage supplier part approval (PPAP) to completion – initially and with every engineering change.
  • Establish quality targets with suppliers; monitoring their performance in comparison to these targets; coordinate supplier quality performance evaluation and workshops.
  • Conducting audits (Traceability, Process or Product) in support of Benteler’s Targeted Objective.
  • Work with given Problem/Focus Suppliers to improve quality performance and verify the effectiveness of the actions.
  • “Crisis” Supplier Management through on-site involvement, effective communication & collaborative and method-based problem solving.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years technical automotive work experience in supplier quality, program/project management, manufacturing or engineering
  • Must have an understanding of AIAG requirements including APQP, FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated ability experience and ability to lead with method-based problem solving
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with the implementation of lean principles
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 10/1/16 and ISO 2015 Quality Standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience desired
  • Travel frequency up to 70%; may include weekends and/or short notice
