Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional chassis and suspension component programs involving metal stamping, welding, casting/machining and module assembly for the following functions for an automotive component manufacturer:  sales, purchasing, quality, production, supply chain, product engineering and process engineering, under the direction of management. 
  • Coordinate the design and development of chassis and suspension projects for automotive component manufacturer based on CAD/CAE analysis, prototype builds and validation tests to ensure the engineering design is feasible. 
  • Prepare business plans and financial analysis reports for customer programs to provide financial analysis reports to stakeholders. 
  • Prepare and present Acquire and Quote phase project reviews by determining most efficient and optimized processes to achieve customer’s cost, program and design requirements. 
  • Manage product costs utilizing Siemens PLM product cost management software.
  • Utilize computer aided engineering tools required for product development to ensure product designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing limitations. 
  • Coordinate manufacturing, engineering, quality, production and sales teams by assigning and monitoring tasks to drive programs to completion. 
  • Provide engineering project reports to management and update SAP systems to include cost, time, and scope of projects.


Background and Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or foreign equivalent and at least 3 years of experience as a Project Leader or substantially similar position performing all of the above duties.
